Located in the Gangshan commercial area, the 5.95‑hectare Gangshan Park is the oldest park in the Gangshan District. Its predecessor was the Gangshan Shrine, and next to it is the flourishing Xiu‑tian Temple, which has long been an important public recreation spot. In 2013 the city government began a renovation of the park, preserving the old trees, removing outdated hard‑wired facilities, and restoring the shrine’s torii gate. It also introduced a lawn area with drainage pipes to collect and store 1,200 t of rainwater in a reservoir, and installed an ecological pool capable of holding about 1,600 t of water to recharge groundwater. These measures bring the park back to nature’s greenery. The newly designed walking paths are user‑friendly, allowing visitors to freely listen to birdsong and wander through fresh, verdant scenery. The rebuilt library brings the sound of books and cultural activities. After the renovation, the park is not only more spacious and bright, but also incorporates ecological, environmental‑friendly, and flood‑control functions. In the bustling city of Gangshan, it serves as a refreshing green oasis and a beautiful gathering spot that blends relaxation with cultural heritage.
