The Taiwan Sun Cake Museum has inherited the authentic and delicious taste of the third-generation craftsmanship of Mr. Wei Qing-hai, the inventor of sun cakes. The museum combines art and cultural exhibitions, interactive audio-visual displays, exchange seminars, and light food and beverage services to provide visitors with a brand-new experience. The museum showcases sun cake artifacts, including mold prints (also known as cake molds), which were used to make cakes, rice cakes, and pastries in the early days. During traditional festivals, families would make and share these sweet treats with their neighbors as a symbol of good luck and peace. These mold prints not only represent a tool for making cakes but also reflect the early lifestyle and food culture of the people. The Quan'an Hall, where the museum is located, is a well-preserved century-old building that has been standing since the Japanese colonial era. The hall was originally used as a pharmacy, selling imported medicines and daily necessities. After being renovated by a professional design team, the old building has been revitalized, and its traditional Taiwanese industry characteristics have been cleverly integrated, allowing the historic building to shine once again. The Light Bites area, located on the second floor, offers a comfortable and relaxing dining space with a green and wooden theme. The menu features a variety of light meals, including healthy and fresh chicken salad and authentic Indian curry. The museum, built in 1909, is a precious historic site that has been standing for over a century. The management hopes to develop more applications and give the building new value. Therefore, the museum has added cultural and artistic exhibitions, providing a space for new artists to showcase their work. Guided tours: Advance reservations are recommended.
