Established in 2001, the Meizhou Hakka Cultural Museum assumes a vital mission in preserving and transmitting Hakka cultural history. It operates on the philosophy of a community museum, fulfilling goals of cultural identity and promoting the development of regional cultural features. The museum showcases the diverse historical and cultural aspects of Meizhou, integrating with the local community to improve understanding and interaction among local ethnic groups. The building adopts a style combining a tobacco storage house structure with a traditional courtyard house, featuring a dignified and rustic architectural aesthetic. Within the museum, a two-floor exhibition space offers visitors insight into rich Hakka life culture, presenting the appearance of Hakka culture in the Meizhou region. By utilizing various media, artifacts, photographs, documents, films, videos, replica models, ecological landscapes, and interactive displays, it vividly presents the multifaceted historical and cultural scenery, deeply highlighting ethnic characteristics and the interactive relationship between the community and the environment through exhibitions. The museum includes the special exhibition hall, thematic exhibition hall, artifact exhibition room on the first floor, as well as a children’s exploratory area and holiday-related artifact room on the second floor. The overall environment is quiet and comfortable, consistently drawing many visitors to visit during holidays.
