The trail leading to Ayuexi Waterfall was once known as the "Ayuexi Trail." After renovation by the Alishan National Scenic Area Management Bureau, it reopened in September 2018. Entering from the west side of the trail, descend the wooden stairs, and the sound of gurgling water fills your ears. Shortly, you will arrive at an observation platform for the waterfall. The wooden tables and chairs provide a place for rest and relaxation, as well as an ideal spot for a tea ceremony. As you continue along the wooden boardwalk built alongside the valley, passing through the tea garden and shaded area by the stream, you will find a pavilion for rest. On the stone bridge crossing the stream, you can observe the rock formations and the direction of the water flow. Beyond the stone bridge lies the second section of the wooden staircase trail. Along the way, you can admire the third layer of the waterfall. The large waterfall platform allows you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Taixing Waterfall. The Ayuexi Waterfall consists of three tiers, each between 10 to 20 meters high. On the exposed rock face, multiple channels formed by water erosion are visible. As the stream flows from the top of the rock face, it splits into several streams, creating a series of waterfalls that resemble white silk ribbons. The lush greenery and plants attached to the rocks create a breathtaking scene, often referred to as the "Taiwanese version of the Pearl Beach in Jiuzhaigou." After taking in the beauty of the waterfall, continue down the trail to the local industry road. Walk a short distance along the industry road to reach the Xingluo Suspension Bridge, which offers stunning views. On the opposite bank, near the Nongxing Temple, a stone inscription reads "The stone mill grinding valley under heaven," accompanied by a stone mill. The story behind these dates back to the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era, showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of the area. **Trail Information:** * Trail length: approximately 700 meters * Walking time: about 25 minutes one way * Difficulty level: Level 1 (family-friendly) **Entrance A - West Side:** Trail starting point GPS: 23°32'59.3"N 120°38'03.3"E West side parking lot GPS: 23°32'59.1"N 120°37'59.2"E **Entrance B:** GPS: 23°33'05.5"N 120°38'14.8"E
