Situated next to the Chen Clan Ancestral Shrine, the sixteen shop houses are public property belonging to the Kinmen Chen Clan Association. Under the support of Chen Clan members, these buildings have been restored and preserved in their original architectural form while also being activated for new uses. These revitalized spaces have invited emerging cultural and creative enterprises to establish a presence, infusing the Houpu Cultural District with vibrant cultural assets. Stepping into the Houpu 16 Art and Cultural District, a sequence of uniquely styled shops has developed into a collection of remarkable cultural and creative products. For example, “Fluffy Force” transforms the tile motifs commonly found on Kinmen's colonial-era buildings through hand-drawing and re-colorization into practical everyday items for visitors from afar. Other notable establishments such as Dream Inn, Plant & Craft jGarden, and Rosweet Studio (CRAFT AESTHETIC WORKSHOP) are equally worth visiting! The tiled-pavement alley in the small town of Houpu was jointly planned by the Kinmen County Islands Association and Jincheng Township Office, and executed by Fluffy Force Studio. Utilizing spray-painted tile shapes in a kaleidoscope of colors, the once-derelict walls have now become a new tourist highlight!
