The “Shanglinluo Creek” section from Lindong Bridge to the east side of the Ailiao Military Camp in Linluo Township, Pingtung County, lies within the Ailiao River watershed. Fed by abundant year-round subterranean flow, it was once Linluo’s only unpolluted and longest mid-course reach. To the east sits the Taiwan Sugar Corporation’s Ailiao River Farm; depressions and marshes within the basin nurture rich aquatic life, making the stream exceptionally biodiverse. The 2.8-hectare Linluo Constructed Wetland, built beside the upper Linluo Creek and the TSC farm, diverts and purifies irrigation-channel effluent from the Ailiao River while also providing space for environmental education and public recreation.
