With a history of more than 380 years, the seven-sided wells—built even before Yan Siqi’s pioneering settlement—include two wells in Chegang Village and Shuibei Village. The seven-sided “Red-Hair Well” constructed by Han Chinese ancestors during the Ming-era Yan Siqi period still stands in Chegang Village, Shuilin Township. Later, a second seven-sided Red-Hair Well was discovered in Shuibei Village; it served as the main water source for a Wang family for twelve generations and is now owned by the Ke family, making it a highly significant historical find. To avoid disturbing nearby residents, please keep your voices low when visiting the wells. It is said that the seven-sided well has been passed down through twelve generations and is two to three centuries old; it was once one of the area’s principal water sources.
