The fishing village celebrates the Three Thousand Years Festival, with a new cohort every four years. The town hosts the Wang, Wan, and Tang festivals, honoring the deities of the Xing, Mo, and Su families. Originally, these ceremonies were part of the traditions of the Ding family in the Yanpu section of Taixi Haikou Village. Every four years, the town hires Master Wu Zongming of Maixiao to create a Quanzhou-style paper boat, which is presented to the deities for a five‑year tenure.
