Ruiyou School was established in 1934. After Mr. Chen Ruiyou, who went to Singapore to develop his career, became successful, he entrusted his cousin Chen Dexing to build Ruiyou School in the old village of Bishan. The school campus covers 20 acres, enrolls children from surrounding villages for free, and has benefited the local community. The front of the school building is designed in the style of Western Baroque architecture, with large, tall gables that are very luxurious. The gables feature clay sculptures of the national flag and the Kuomintang flag, Indian police and music bands, flowers and cranes, showing a lot of ingenuity. It is now operated by the Bishan Dongdian Community Building Association, and is planned as an arts and culture exhibition space. Locals can rent bicycles and quad bikes here, and take a leisurely walk along the paths of the village. They can also look for 10 exquisite murals completed by the picture book artist Liu Ruizhi (Wawa) together with village volunteers and students, and enjoy a relaxed time.
