The Fengshang Patrol Office, located in Jinhu Township, is a defensive outpost established by Jiangxia Marquis Zhou Dexing of the Ming Dynasty to resist Wokou pirates, one of five patrol offices in Jinmen. The current appearance viewed today was restored after 2013 A.D. With its distinctive gate design, it has become a popular social media check-in spot, with many also calling it the "Little Great Wall of Jinmen." During the Ming Dynasty, Wokou pirates were rampant and often invaded coastal regions of China. In the 20th year of Hongwu's reign, Emperor Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang appointed Jiangxia Marquis Zhou Dexing to station troops along Fujian's coastal areas and to extensively establish coastal defense outposts. At that time, five patrol offices were constructed on Jinmen Island, namely Tianpu, Guan'ao, Chen Keng, Lieyu, and Fengshang. However, these five patrol offices were all destroyed by the 63rd year of Emperor Shunzhi's reign when the Qing forces occupied Jinmen Island and implemented a maritime prohibition policy. In addition, the Fengshang Patrol Office is also an excellent spot for watching sunsets. After visiting the Fengshang Patrol Office, you may also take the opportunity to visit nearby sites such as "Fengshang Guli'an" and "Three Guards E-065 Site"!
