The waterfall blessed by ancestral spirits demands reverent respect for a safe visit. From the entrance of Xiaoyun Elementary School along Kuzhi Road heading forward about 400 meters, the actual ecological pools of Xiaoyun Village materialize. Far from ghostly impressions, their appearance mistakenly feels like Jiuzhaigou Valley. Upon stepping onto an observation platform, dreamlike water colors emerge from wild ginger lilies, cattails, umbrella grass, and moneywort, along with microorganisms—an enchanting view of aquatic treasures. The ecological pools derive water from underground springs and rain; when winter dries the pools, one sudden rainfall instantly revives the water plants. Except for distant vehicle rumbles, birdsong and insects serve as a natural soundtrack. Preserved in its original state, the pools shelter frogs, reptiles, and birds—comparable to a miniature Eden. Between April and May, fireflies mysteriously appear to glow in sparkling performances that captivate all. Proceed another ten minutes along the Kuzhi Trail beside the ecological pools to the wooden boardwalk near the platform. Following a 20-meter walk, Kuzhi Stream’s middle reaches arrive at Youxiayun Falls, located at an altitude of about 600 meters. The fall’s name originates from a phonetic adaptation of Tayal words meaning "cradle of life." Unlike the tranquil ecological pools, roaring water sounds gradually become audible along the wooden trail, intensifying anticipation of the waterfall’s reality. Upon reaching the platform, not only do you feel the powerful water surge up close but also enjoy abundant negative ions for a refreshing, rejuvenating forest bath.
