連江縣北竿鄉龜島
In the center of the bay area to the north of Cing-Bih village lies a protruding granite reef. The reef's peculiar joint lines make it resemble a giant sea turtle resting on the water's surface, and thus the locals call it "Turtle Island." Surrounded by crystal-clear seawater, Mirror Bay, known as Cing-Bih village, once prospered; legends attribute this success to its excellent feng shui. The villagers also regard many folk tales and beliefs as originating on Turtle Island, so they consider it a treasure of the village. Every April and May, the area is especially renowned as one of the best spots to witness the phenomenon of "Blue Tears." Legends of the Black Stone Plaque If you have binoculars or a camera, don't forget to use a long lens to zoom in and discover a black stone tablet on the island inscribed with “Planting Banyan Trees to Accumulate Wealth.” Legend has it that around 1994, villagers followed the instructions of General Tiejia from Tianhou Palace and erected two stone tablets—“Planting Banyan Trees to Accumulate Wealth” and “Donors' Names Memorial Stele”—on the island. Over more than 20 years, Cing-Bih village gradually became a popular tourist destination in Matsu and a distinctive folk village!
