The Dahsin District, with minimal light pollution, is recognized as the best place in southern Taiwan for stargazing, earning it the reputation as the "Hometown of Stars". Located within the Nanying Astronomy Education Park in Dahsin, not only are there professional telescopes allowing visitors to personally experience the beauty of astronomy, but the exhibition hall is also filled with secrets and knowledge about the universe, as well as a fascinating 3D star theater, enabling stargazers to embark on an adventure through space and fulfill their cosmic dreams. Astronomy Observatory: The earliest building to open in the park, its exterior design resembles a sharp, pointed star, symbolizing the concept of "stars". The observatory features telescopes of various apertures, providing astronomical observation capabilities. During the day, visitors can observe the meandering streams of the Cengwen River, river terraces, and the moon-like world of mudstone formations from the stargazing platform. They can also observe sunspots through the astronomical telescope. On Saturdays and during special astronomical events, the observatory opens for nighttime stargazing, offering experiences with astronomical telescopes, along with guided tours of the starry sky, bringing visitors closer to nature. Astronomy Exhibition Hall: The exhibition hall's design takes advantage of the natural terrain, symbolizing the "moon". Using high-tech virtual reality techniques, the hall provides interactive exhibits that create a technologically advanced and fantastical astronomical environment. Through engaging and lively astronomical themes, combined with special exhibitions on popular astronomical topics, the hall inspires a love for astronomical science among visitors. Planetarium: The building extends into a semi-circular sphere, symbolizing the "sun". The planetarium is the main attraction of the hall, featuring the first digital full-dome 3D planetarium in Taiwan. Using the latest "full-sky 3D imaging" digital planetarium technology, it transcends geographical limitations, weather conditions, lunar phases, and time constraints, providing visitors with a realistic and moving simulated starry sky experience.
