The Shizi Island Head Wetland, as its name suggests, is located at the confluence of the Keelung River and the Danshui River. Although it covers an area of only 1 hectare, it is a genuine and remarkable spot. The island head was created by the Taipei City Government using soil excavated from the Keelung River. The beach is covered with lush green grass, and a stone path and wooden boardwalk have been built to provide easy access to the observation platform. The platform is always crowded with anglers, and it is an ideal spot to observe the confluence of the Keelung River and the Danshui River as they flow into the sea. The platform offers a 270-degree panoramic view of the rivers. To the right, one can see the bustling Guandu Temple and the majestic Guandu Bridge, while to the left, the distant Guanyin Mountain rises majestically. The scene is often dotted with small egrets flying by, creating a serene landscape painting. On the left side of the platform lies a dense mangrove forest wetland, which corresponds to the Guandu Nature Park wetland on the opposite bank. During low tide, one can spot crabs emerging from the wetland, combining to create a symphony of mangrove forest ecology.
