Jiangmei Village was previously known as Gangwei, which means it was located at the end of Zhenhai Port. Initially, the villagers lived in scattered settlements, and eventually formed this area. In 1955, the village was officially renamed Jiangmei. The coastal dike park connecting Jiangmei Community to Zhenhai Community was built in May of the year 88 of the ROC (1999), under the overall development plan of白沙 Township's Jiangmei and Zhenhai Communities. The park features a community landmark in the shape of the letter "OK", adding a fun and memorable touch to the coastal scenery. The famous local band Mayday once held a program here, singing a song named "It's OK" that perfectly suits the setting. This iconic "OK" sign at Jiangmei is constructed from concrete and decorated with local Penghu "Luogu" stones. As you pass County Road 203 past Yong'an Bridge, you can easily spot the striking "OK" sign partially hidden behind low walls and plantings. Beside the sign is a wooden staircase leading up to a viewing pavilion, where visitors can rest and enjoy the tranquil, expansive sea views. Beyond the dike, an expanse of white shell beach unfolds. With the tides, the dike park reveals different landscapes depending on the time of visit. At high tide, the beach features fine-grained, smooth sands and clear blue waters swaying gently with the wind and waves. Looking far into the distance across the sea, the silhouette of Pingshui Island and the mysterious Jiangmei Seacoast Observation post, which holds a special place as a hidden spot, are faintly visible. These spots occupy quiet, solitary, yet beautiful presences in the ocean. 【Suggested Visiting Time】1 hour.
