Let the fresh aroma fill your nose and the sweetness delight your palate. Sip the mountain-high fragrance and let the lingering notes linger in your nose and throat; every crystal-clear, tender-green cup is hand-plucked as “one heart and two leaves,” then crafted through meticulous steps into the essence in your cup. The tea bricks on the shelf, made with special techniques, are the fruit of the owner’s devoted research; they can even be custom-printed with patterns or inscriptions, perfect as gifts or home décor. Devoted to traditional craftsmanship, every step of tea-making is done without outside help, all to maintain consistent quality. In recent years we have actively promoted coffee-leaf tea: amber in color, intensely aromatic, caffeine-free, and easy on the body. Our tea-accompanying desserts are equally refined. Our signature maple nut tart blends five healthy nuts, stir-fried with precious sweet maple syrup and set on a crisp, delicious crust. One bite of sweetness paired with a cup of fragrant tea is the most delightful indulgence.
Tea bricks can be shaped? Absolutely. At “Fen-Fang-Yuan Enterprise,” besides custom designs, we also make 12-zodiac tea bricks. “When giving gifts, customers can easily pick their own or the recipient’s zodiac sign,” proprietress He Fen-fang says with pride. “And because they’re so exquisite, guests can’t bear to steep them.” Her words reveal her pride in the business—yet none of it fell from the sky. Years ago a car accident claimed her husband’s life and plunged the family into hardship. By chance she encountered the tea her husband had loved, so she started from scratch at a tea shop—both to carry on his wishes and to give herself a second chance. Meticulous about tradition, He insists on hand-picking, pan-firing, and roasting the leaves herself, while constantly innovating. Lately she has championed “coffee-leaf tea.” Health-conscious, she wants Taiwanese to learn more: “Coffee-leaf has no caffeine; the longer you steep it, the better it tastes—no bitterness at all—and it offers health benefits.” Beyond R&D, she promotes Chiayi imagery. Our recommended “Tsou Highland Doll Gift Box” features Tsou tribal motifs on the outside and inside packs local specialties—tea bags, nougat, pineapple cakes, square crisps—so guests can share Chiayi culture along with their gifts.
