Located opposite the 228 Peace Memorial Park, this museum is primarily focused on natural history and paleontology. It is a reused historical site of the old Bank of Taiwan, which was built during the Japanese colonial period. The exterior features a grand Roman colonnade made of stone, with walls constructed using a technique of separated gray joints. The cast-iron windows are equipped with pulleys and heavy hammers for effortless opening and closing. Additionally, the cast-iron windows are embedded with hexagonal mesh iron wire netting and etched glass, showcasing the construction techniques and craftsmanship of the time. The high-ceilinged lobby, spanning three floors, is adorned with plaster reliefs and molded panels as decorative components. The museum displays a variety of paleontological specimens and large dinosaur models, among other exhibits. It also features a permanent exhibition on the history of the Land Bank and architectural restoration.
