Gugang Tower was built in 1964, and was responsible for the construction by Mr. Zhuang Wunan, a painter from Tamsui, a temple restoration expert, and an antique collector. Walking along the Gugang Lake shore is very quiet and pleasant. Ascending to the top of Gugang Tower, you can look down on the lake surface. On a sunny day, the lake sparkles with light, presenting a beautiful scene of lake and mountain views. Outside Gugang Tower there is a garden lawn, where the famous Jinmen bird "Hoopoe" can often be seen foraging on the grass. The surrounding areas of the lake are also gathering places for various waterfowl.
