Wanjing Art Garden is located in Xizhou Township, Changhua County. In 1992, Chairman Chen Cang-hsing saw a century-old camphor tree lying in front of a camphor-oil factory, still putting out tender shoots. Moved by pity, he purchased and adopted it, allowing the ancient tree to live on. Thus began the Old-Tree Shelter Bank, which in turn led to the creation of a botanical garden devoted to Taiwan’s native flora. Over the past decade, the garden has continued to expand, adding landscape architecture and scenic features, and is now Taiwan’s largest and finest. Throughout the grounds thrive rare flowers, trees, and stones, giving the garden a grandeur that rivals the world’s finest estates.
