The highly popular local specialty "Shiding One Rice Ball" was founded in 1978 and has been a nostalgic, old-fashioned meat zongzi shop for more than thirty years. The name “One Rice Ball” reflects the shop’s confidence that customers will feel the health and taste of the zongzi after eating just one, becoming addicted and sensing the owner’s dedication. Every holiday, local and passing tourists flock to the small shop, and the limited supply of zongzi often sells out. Inside the shop, a black‑and‑white photo hangs on the wall with the words: “For more than thirty years we’ve crafted great skill; by chance we came together; with care we made One Rice Ball to showcase the local flavor.” This is the origin story of One Rice Ball. The main products include zongzi, cheese, drinks, and sauces. The zongzi are advertised as non‑greasy and non‑bloated, made with the finest ingredients and awarded the national quality assurance top gold medal; among them, the osmanthus zongzi is the most special. The osmanthus zongzi is a unique creation in Taiwan, developed over several years by incorporating whole osmanthus flowers into the zongzi for flavor, so that while eating the zongzi you can also taste the scent of osmanthus.
