Kaohsiung’s prime maritime location gives it a unique advantage in foreign economic trade. In recent years, in response to changing industrial types, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in cooperation with the city government, has promoted the creation of the “R7 Creative Hub.” Its core focus is on “design,” “lifestyle,” and “education,” linking and supporting domestic textile and design industries while establishing an interactive platform with consumers, moving toward nurturing locally based designer brands. The R7 Creative Hub is located on the first floor of the Lion Pavilion Hall in the greenery of Labor Park, adjacent to Exit 3 of the R7 Lion Pavilion metro station. The exhibition area of the R7 Creative Hub is designed without partitions, allowing for flexible layout changes according to different display styles. The high-ceilinged space uses a black backdrop and natural wood textures to create a creative, fashionable ambiance. The venue includes a showcase area for local designers, currently hosting five resident designers. Visitors can interact directly with the creators, observe or participate in the design process, turning ideas from nothing into unique works. After a tiring day, numerous light food and coffee shops within the exhibition provide a relaxing corner, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a refreshing creative atmosphere that fills the heart.
