Wulu is located in the Nanzhuang Township of Miaoli County, with an area of about 76 square kilometers. The village is rich in diverse cultures, including the Saisiyat people who reside in the villages of Xiangtianhu, Dacuo Shan, Dazhuwei, Gongsun Jiao and Donghe. The Atayal people live in the villages of Luchang, Luhu, Shibi and Donghe. The Hakka people reside in areas such as Hengpingbei, Luyai Liao and Donghe, with a total of 347 households and approximately 1325 people. Near the Donghe Suspension Bridge, a striking Japanese-style wooden building, the old police station, was constructed in 1924 (the 13th year of the Republic of China) and abandoned in 1988 (the 77th year of the Republic of China). It wasn't until 2005 (the 94th year of the Republic of China) that, through the efforts of local individuals, the building was restored with subsidies from the Council of Indigenous Peoples.
