花蓮縣秀林鄉於中橫燕子口附近的布洛灣臺地上
The Bulawan Terrace is a large double-layered terrace located at the downstream of the Liwu River. In Truku (Taroko) language, it means "echoes from the canyon". This terrace was once a settlement of the Truku people, and today the Taroko National Park Management Office has established a management station here, designed as an indigenous cultural zone. The Bulawan Terrace is divided into upper and lower terraces, with a 30-meter altitude difference. The lower terrace is at an elevation of approximately 370 meters, where the management station is located. It offers visitors exhibition services, tour information, and multimedia programs introducing the development history of the Taroko region and the cultural heritage of the Tsou (Tayal) people. A Truku Indigenous Crafts Exhibition Hall is located on the left side, displaying exquisite works of local weaving and bamboo crafts. The circular-flow-hill park adjacent to the lower terrace allows panoramic views of the valley and canyon landscapes. The upper terrace is operated through outsourcing, and has been developed as an accommodation and study center, offering facilities such as suites, conference centers, and dining services. Given that the Bulawan Terrace provides a tropical monsoon rainforest ecosystem and distinctive terraces and circular-flow-hill landforms, the Taroko Management Office has specially cultivated native species of Taiwan lilies in this area. Every April, when the wild lilies bloom, their graceful swaying in the wind brings a charming fragrance that enchants all who witness it.
