The Sanzhan Creek has the Sanzhannan Creek as its mainstem, which later converges with the North Creek near Sanzhan Village before flowing out to sea and emptying into the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular destination for ecological tourism in Hualien County, situated within the Taroko National Park. After the establishment of the Bradan Ecological Tourism Center, its popularity has gradually increased. The Sanzhan Creek is ideal for ecological tourism and canyoneering, featuring deep valleys with clear emerald-green water. The riverbanks’ sandy beaches are great for water activities. The area is also known for its rose quartz, highly favored by rock collectors, which exhibits diverse textures and colors, truly a masterpiece of nature. However, due to their high similarity to other types of stones, they are hard to distinguish without expert knowledge. Trekking upstream reveals picturesque landscapes comparable to those of Taroko Gorge, leading some to call it "Little Taroko." A famous canyoneering spot, the Golden Canyon, is located in this river valley, making it a popular canyoneering route in Hualien County. Moreover, the Sanzhan Creek is suitable for observing topography, geology, and ecological features of flora and fauna; picking up a sketchbook and sitting on a rock to draw the scenery; or engaging in hiking and photography—all allow visitors to experience diverse aspects of this unique location.
