Dulan Mountain Gem DIY (Hongda), located in Dulan Village, Donghe Township, Taitung County, specializes in jade processing and wholesale and retail of natural gemstones from around the world. It also caters to independent and group travelers, partnering with nearby B&Bs to offer gem-DIY package tours that teach you about gemstones: experts take you to the beach to hunt for stones, then guide you as you personally grind and polish your finds. Private local sights can be arranged as well. When the owner was young he loved jade; a friend’s suggestion inspired him to promote the beauty of Taiwan’s east-coast gemstones and help more people appreciate jade. Thus the DIY workshops were born—treasure-hunting on the beach and hands-on stone polishing that creates unique, precious memories.
