Seek seclusion and let your feelings roam: a light valley trip follows the Qingxi Trail and the Shuilian Cave Trail for about 1.3 km. The newly rebuilt steel walkway hugs the stream, running level with rushing cascades and unusual rock formations, slicing straight through the gorge, accompanied by potholes and fossils—cool, quiet, and serene. The Youqing Valley Trail is a highlight of Caoling’s Ten Scenes; everywhere you look are small waterfalls and rapids, all carved by the torrent’s endless assault on stone. True to its name, the valley is hushed and spacious, its mood as open as a gorge. A freshly built wooden walkway with railings now invites visitors to rest and hike; walking here, you hear the symphony of water gnawing at rock, as though you were vying with the current itself.
