Mount Hulud is located in the mountainous area behind Nanshijiao, Zhonghe District, New Taipei City. Also known as "Nanshijiao Mountain," it lies along the Smiling Hiking Trail. The Mount Hulud–Yuantong Temple hiking and sightseeing trail links Zhonghe, Xindian, and Tucheng districts. Mt. Huludiao ranks 16th among Taiwan’s "Little 100 Peaks," at 302 m above sea level, and is popular with hikers. Numerous temples dot the mountain, making it a pilgrimage destination for believers. Mount Hulud is the easternmost peak of the Tian-shang range; its broad, flat summit offers sweeping views and attracts many hikers and walkers. Drivers on the Zhonghe section of National Highway No. 3 can see the giant statue of the Earth God on the ridgeline. From here one can overlook the Taipei Basin and the Dahan and Xindian rivers, gaze toward the Guanyin and Datun volcanoes and the Tamsui estuary, and enjoy one of the most famous night views in greater Taipei.
