Xinbaoyang belongs to the Hehuan Mountain Range at an elevation of 1,650 meters and features a service station within Taroko National Park, serving as a crucial information hub at the eastern trailhead of the meandering section along the Hehuan Leebell Trail. Inside the service station, landscape images displayed on light boxes introduce visitors to the park's trails, flora and fauna, and the sea of clouds, forming an open-air exhibition system. A viewing platform is also established, offering panoramic views of the upstream Taxisiri Creek of the Liwu River. Standing on the observation deck at Xinbaoyang, visitors can admire the majestic Chilai North Peak, Panshi Mountain, and the main Liwu Mountain. Due to its unique topography, fog is easily formed here; the thick mist instead imparts a more ethereal beauty to the forested mountains.
