雲林縣西螺鎮延平路92號
A stunning fusion of Chinese, Japanese, and Western architecture! The Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Center was originally the Jiefa Qianji Tea House owned by the Xu family, later donated free of charge to local arts groups and community colleges. The traditional three-section layout—tea shop, reception hall, and courtyard—epitomizes a classic blend of Han, Japanese, and Western architectural styles. In 2002 (Republic of China Year 91), with the Xu family’s consent, the Luoyang Cultural & Educational Foundation moved into the Jiefa Tea House. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, the “Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Center” was established as a base for cultural revitalization and the rejuvenation of the old community. From that moment on, the Jiefa Qianji Tea House transformed into a cradle of Xiluo’s renaissance. In 2007 (R.O.C. Year 96) it was officially designated a historic building. Pooling funds from the Ministry of Culture, the Yunlin County Government, donations raised by the Luoyang Cultural & Educational Foundation, and contributions from the Xu family, it took 11 years of effort before the site could reopen in its full splendor in August 2013 (R.O.C. Year 102). The Luoyang Cultural & Educational Foundation continues to operate both the “Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Center” and the “Xiluo Tourist Service Center.” For more than a century, the steadfast presence of the Jiefa Qianji Tea House at the heart of Xiluo has given the town’s history and culture a chance to endure and renew. From the Jiefa Qianji Tea House—under the business name of Xu Jiefa—now the Xiluo Yanping Old Street Cultural Center, the old tea-house building carries on the mission of preserving and regenerating Xiluo’s heritage, perpetuating the pioneering spirit of its founder Xu Jin, who was industrious, enterprising, and generous in his lifetime. • Free audio guides available • Arts events and cultural promotion • Guided tours (reservation required) • Travel information, guidebooks, and event brochures available
