高雄市鳳山區曹公路25之3號(曹公國小對面)
The temple was built to commemorate Cao Jin, the magistrate who served during the Daoguang era and was celebrated for his achievements. Twelve stone plaques from different eras still stand preserved on the southern side of the temple's front square. Among them, "Cao Gong Shuitan Record" is composed of four long granite slabs inscribed with characters. This document, originally submitted to the imperial court in the 19th year of the Daoguang era (1839) to propose the name "Cao Gong Shuitan," praised Cao Jin for his notable contributions. Behind the Cao Gong Temple lies the Heping Artillery Fort. A granite plaque bearing the word "Heping" is embedded in its wall, still faintly evoking the aura of its former function as a military stronghold defending the city. To alleviate severe drought in Fengshan, magistrate Cao Jin constructed extensive water conservancy projects during the Daoguang era of the Qing dynasty by diverting water from Gaoping Creek, significantly improving irrigation for farmlands in Fengshan. Grateful for his contributions, local residents built a memorial shrine within Fengyi Academy. In 1900, during General Inoue Genzaburo, the Governor-General of Taiwan's inspection tour of Fengshan, funds were donated and collected to relocate it to its current site. The building was officially upgraded to Cao Gong Temple in 1992. Located behind the Cao Gong Temple, Heping Artillery Fort stands about 5 meters high. The square-shaped fort is constructed with a staircase on its inner side. Across its main face, granite inscriptions include the word "Heping" and a note stating this was built by Cao Jin. The entire structure is remarkably solid and resilient, resembling an unshakable fortress.
