Sightseeing Tips ◼️ Lollipop and geometric motifs shape the landscape. The Agriculture Department planned Houli Environmental Park on the idea of a “flower-patchwork quilt.” In 2007 five landscaped mounds were completed, together with a 2-ha flower-sea zone, a 3-ha grassland, a 3,300 m² artificial ecological pond (for rearing aquatic plants, fish and shrimp), and about 1,200 m of crushed-stone flower-viewing paths. After seeding and irrigation the flower sea and grassland burst into bloom—yellow cosmos and zinnias steal the show, creating ever-changing tapestries of color. From atop a mound the cooling breeze and sweeping vista are pure refreshment. The geometric, lollipop-shaped land-art can be reached via a floral-corridor walkway to the adjoining Houli Environmental Nursery for more plant delights.
