Wanggaoliao, also known as “Wangtiankan,” is the highest point on the Dadu Plateau, a great cliff. From the viewing platform you can look out over Taichung Port, the flatlands south of the Dadu River in Changhua, and downtown Taichung; at night the lights of all three areas glitter below. Thanks to this vantage point, Wanggaoliao is a prime spot for watching the sunrise and stargazing. Recently vendors have flocked here, creating a night-market scene that never sleeps and turning the area into a new night-market hot spot. Besides the romantic night view, a comprehensive patrol system keeps visitors safe while they enjoy the scenery. Students from nearby Ling Tung University and other schools often come in groups, and Wanggaoliao has become a romantic night-view destination for couples.
