The Re-Greening Park for the Physically and Mentally Disabled in Chiayi City - This comprehensive park for the physically and mentally disabled is operated and managed by Chiayi Christian Hospital, which was entrusted by Chiayi City Government. The Mushi workshop in Re-Greening Park, where the glass bead crafters work, was established after one year of hard training and with subsidies from Chiayi City Government and the Council of Labor Affairs. The workshop actively develops new products and successfully promotes its creation to the international market combining with Chiayi City Government’s “Taiwan Kyoto” image. It has become Chiayi’s representative handicraft- “The Pearl of Chiayi”. Currently, there are 5 crafters (the physically and mentally disabled) developing a variety of ornaments and gifts in the workshop. Recently, they have successfully developed signature pens made of glass, necklaces, earrings, brooches, picture frames, etc., and formally accepted orders for production and sales.
