“Mr. Lobby began on the street in 2016: a coffee project that grew from one person into a whole community!” Lobby started learning about coffee in 2014 while working as a performer in Macau. There he encountered outstanding cafés in Macau and Hong Kong, and was fortunate enough to learn from their owners how to run a café with single-minded dedication. In 2016, he returned to his hometown of Yunlin and began his coffee project on the street, using the tools he had and a single long table as the smallest possible café unit. In 2017, a permanent location was established on Yunzhong Street in Douliu, Yunlin, offering fuller-flavored coffee and brand services. He continued to exchange roasting knowledge with cafés in Hong Kong and Macau, and—right in Yunlin, the cradle of Taiwanese coffee roasting—joined the Douliu Coffee Roasters Association. In 2018, new partners joined and the venture was reorganized into Mr. Lobby Coffee Project and Mr. Lobby Coffee Roastery, focusing on crafting better-tasting coffee and ensuring the finest roasted flavors. “This is Mr. Lobby: a coffee project you can taste the serious soul in every cup!”
