Since the tribe began promoting the cultivation of indigenous wild vegetables, the community has taken on a new appearance. Young people who returned to the tribe after military service brought back new ideas, initially experimenting with small-scale plantings of native wild vegetables. Through continuous exploration and improvement, they gradually increased their production value. Now the cultivated area has reached one jia and five fen [approximately 1,500 square meters], successfully driving innovative development in the tribal industry and providing local employment opportunities. The Senyang tribe established a kitchen called VUVU to promote indigenous wild vegetable cuisine. In the Paiwan language, "VUVU" generally refers to grandmother. When visitors come to the Senyang tribe, they can listen to guided tours about wild vegetables, learn about different species, and even participate in hands-on growing activities to experience a day of farming work. Alternatively, they can harvest wild vegetables themselves for a farm experience, and finally savor a wild vegetable-themed meal at the VUVU kitchen, offering visitors a complete educational culinary journey through wild vegetables.
