Kaohsiung ALIEN Art - Jin Ma Hotel Contemporary Art Centre, situated in the last remaining gem of Cold War-era military architecture, stands as a witness to history. Constructed in 1967 with the military's exit in 1998, the Jin Ma Hotel marked a historical turning point. In 2016, the Kaohsiung City Urban Development Department initiated a competitive bidding process. The ALIEN Art team from Everplus Arts emerged to preserve the structure. After two years of meticulous renovation, the ALIEN Art Centre - Everplus Arts Jin Ma Hotel Museum officially reopened on November 28, 2018, transforming the formal military layout into a nature-integrated green building. Within its walls, geometric elements flourish in harmony with the surrounding spaces, intertwining stories from the past and modernity. The renovated hotel retains classical strength while blending elegance and contemporary flair. Today, Everplus Arts - Jin Ma Hotel Contemporary Art Museum showcases memory, art, groves, spatial experiences, and contemporary design. Hidden on the second floor is ALIEN All-Day Lounge, offering naturally organic fresh light meals and coffee amidst a design and artistic atmosphere, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a relaxed environment of inspiration. Everplus Arts - Jin Ma Hotel Contemporary Art Museum is dedicated to presenting the new spirit of culture, art, fashion, and lifestyle through international perspectives and standards. Current exhibitions and specially curated programs follow a rotating schedule across the museum’s three floors, complemented by permanent exhibitions. The second floor houses the museum shop and ALIEN All-Day Lounge café, where visitors can purchase art collectibles and books or enjoy reunions after exhibitions. The rooftop terrace is available for music and performance events.
