Mother Yu Er, the emergency rescue deity protecting the hometown of Tahu Tienhou Temple, is locally known as Er Mother Temple. The incense of Matsu comes from the “Yu Er Tian Shang Sheng Mu” (not Lin Mo Niang) at the Tienhou Temple on the mountain in Tainan. The mid‑autumn festival on the 15th of the seventh lunar month in Tahu sees the Western District Pudu ceremony set up right in front of the temple courtyard, attracting many domestic and international tourists.
