The Enshū Shrine is located across from the JianTan MRT Station, next to the Yangming Branch of the Water Supply Bureau. Following the cement stairs, you can reach the reservoir and see the Enshū Shrine. It preserves the original stone lanterns, the shrine name tablet, the purification pool, and a pair of komainu (guardian lions) that guard the shrine.
This is a shrine left behind from the Japanese colonial period, with its layout largely intact. It is located near an easily accessible MRT station, but because it is not well known, it is rarely visited by tourists. Inside, there is a raised area called the "Yuan Shan Reservoir," an important water control point in the "Cao Shan Water Supply System." Although the Enshū Shrine is just across the street from the Shilin commercial area, it is a quiet place, exuding an ancient, mysterious, and relaxed atmosphere.
