The former site of the Penghu 2nd Fishery Port was once an area used for fishing vessels and ice production. It was littered with oil stains, fish odors, and scattered fishing gear and ice machine motors. Under the county government's overall planning and redevelopment, it has been transformed into a waterfront redevelopment zone that embodies the unique industrial character of Penghu and holds the most potential for future growth. Today, it is a must‑visit destination for both Penghu residents and tourists. The Fisherman’s Wharf is roughly divided into two sections: one centered on the “Jusiang Star,” a shopping and artist performance area, and the other featuring colorful painted oil drums as a leisure zone. The wharf includes wooden boardwalks, waterfront benches, and tables. The Jusiang Star is a steel‑concrete structure built to resemble a large cruise ship, constructed at a cost of 120 million New Taiwan dollars by the Penghu Fishermen’s Association. Inside, it functions as a direct‑sales center for the association’s fish products. The first floor offers fresh fish, dried goods, souvenirs, and handcrafted items; the second floor houses a seafood restaurant; the third floor contains some ship‑style facilities for photo opportunities. The redevelopment of the harbor district balances fishery production with tourism and leisure, creating a waterfront area where visitors can stroll along the boardwalk, enjoy leisurely walks, and experience the distinct ambience of day and night through thoughtful lighting design. **Recommended visit duration:** 1.5 hours
