Temple of the Main Deity: Avalokiteśvara Festival Dates: Lunar April 8th, Lunar June 19th, Lunar September 19th The temple is located on the western coast wall of the Ma‑Gong City, built in the 35th year of Emperor Kangxi (1696). Inside the temple is the Southern Sea Avalokiteśvara, and it was rebuilt in its present form during the Japanese rule in the 2nd year of Showa (1927). In 2003 (ROC 92) it was once again restored using the ancient method, preserving this county’s historic monument in full. The plaque inside the temple is considered a treasure of the town’s shrine, highly valuable.
