In the past, the only passage for the ancestors of Dasyuenpeii to transport agricultural products to the market in Xiangshan Township was difficult, and the life in the remote mountainous area was hard and it was not easy to make a living. There is a Hakka song in the area that goes: "If you have a daughter, don't marry her to Dasyuenpeii, going up the hill you will hit your mouth, and going down the hill you will scrape your back." It refers to the hardships of carrying and shuttling on the ancient trail.
