Guangxin Algal Reef Ecosystem Animal Protection Area is Taiwan's largest algal reef topography, a monumental work shaped by nature over thousands of years. It comprises reef structures formed primarily from the calcified remains of jointless coral-like algae, which accumulated on gravelly beaches to create limestone reefs. Additionally, an annual "Cherish Taoyuan Algal Reef Thousand-Person Hike" is held here, encouraging citizens to use their actions to demonstrate environmental awareness toward coastal conservation.
