The Governor's Hot Springs in San Francisco is a famous large hot spring complex in Jinshan District. The name “Governor” comes from the fact that during the Japanese colonial period, the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office allocated 30,000 yen in May of the 13th year of Showa to build this hot spring, so it was later named “Jiangjinshan Governor’s Hot Springs.” The main building of the hot spring complex was constructed by renovating the existing new hot spring reception house, and its appearance closely resembles a classic European villa. The second floor is a dining space where guests can enjoy meals, decorated in a fresh oceanic style. The cuisine at the hot spring complex mainly focuses on fresh seafood sets, showcasing the exquisite flavors of Jinshan’s marine delicacies right before your eyes. The most famous dish, “Golden Crab Jumping Hot Pot,” is a crowd‑pleaser at the complex. Various fresh hot‑pot ingredients, combined with the star “flower crab” or seasonal crabs, and the complex’s specially prepared delicious broth, allow visitors to savor fresh local ingredients while enjoying the hot spring—a true feeling of happiness. Additionally, the Governor’s set, Jade set, and a variety of seafood and Jinshan specialties such as “sweet potato” dishes are not to be missed. The roof of the hot spring complex is divided into left and right sides for male and female open‑air public baths. One side is the only spot in Taiwan where you can soak in a hot spring while overlooking the sea; the other side offers a panoramic view of the ridges and mist of Yangmingshan National Park, providing an exceptionally refreshing and comfortable soaking experience.
