In the early days of Qing rule, Changhua was founded. Because the water in Chang-yi was salty, the spring water from the well was sweet, and the city walls were almost decided to be built there. However, the people of Chang-yi did not give up. They secretly sprinkled a lot of salt into the well, thereby obstructing it. As a result, the county decided to build the city at what is now Changhua. The Longmu well is now rebuilt with cement, and it is no longer the same as it was back then. According to the Changhua County Gazetteer, “Longmu Well is located 17 li north of the town. Its spring gushes out several feet, like a jade flower; the fields below the mountain are irrigated with water from this spring. It is blue in color, sweet in taste, and the locals frequently draw from it. Two stones beside it resemble a dragon's mouth, hence the name.” The picture was provided with the help of the Longjing District Office.
