澎湖縣馬公市第二漁港(漁人碼頭)
Simplified Chinese Japanese English Korean Penghu Fisherman's Wharf is located in the First and Second Fishing Port Area of Magong City, Penghu County. The painted oil drum at the second fishing port is part of the county government's recent artificial landscape project. Originally it served as an oil storage tank for the second fishing port's fishing vessels, but it has been painted with Penghu’s famous scenic spots. At night, with lighting, it becomes dazzlingly beautiful, making it a popular spot for tourists to take photos and for couples to stroll. The side of the oil drum facing the sea bears the inscription “HI, PENGHU.” It is also the departure point for night fishing trips from Magong. Beside the painted oil drum is a wooden boardwalk and a pavilion, and near the ice plant with its artfully painted walls is the First Fishing Port outdoor relaxation corridor. This corridor is a joint effort by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Energy Administration and the Penghu County Government to use solar power to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, making the port both environmentally friendly and leisurely, showcasing the elegant slow life of the harbor. Walking along the harbor near the painted oil drum leads to “Jiu Dao Star,” a large ship-shaped shopping complex. Inside, fresh seafood cultivated from the sea is available, along with many processed seafood products and a restaurant area to taste fresh seafood. Its design is unique, and its facilities are well-equipped. On the other side, the First Fishing Port stands a prominent sculpture, “Mother of the Ocean.” The infinity-shaped sculpture is filled with fish and wave lines, symbolizing the endless supply of fish and marine resources at the harbor. The area is connected, and on the evening walk you can feel the sea breeze, stroll along the Fisherman’s Wharf, and enjoy the night view of the harbor with Jiu Dao Star. To gradually transform Magong’s First Fishing Port into a tourist leisure port, with diversified leisure and recreational functions, and to attract international tourists to visit Magong, stimulating business and economic prosperity around the port, the Yagao Yacht Club signed a redevelopment and operation transfer agreement with Penghu County in May 2016 (year 105). The investment built the “Penghu – Yagao Yacht Wharf,” hoping to make it a highlight of Magong tourism, creating a magnetic effect and shaping Penghu as a unique image of the world’s most beautiful bay. After Yagao Yacht Group moved to Penghu, Fisherman’s Wharf gained a new look, with painted mailboxes appearing more lively and festive against the backdrop of the yachts. Tourists have more options to explore Penghu. The new yacht tourism development, combined with Penghu’s natural terrain, scenery, and marine advantages, creates a refreshing, more international leisure tourism culture in Penghu.
