Vision Station, located on the east side of Chiayi Railway Station (formerly the Glory Bus Station), serves as both the "Chiayi Vision Station" and the "Chiayi Railway Elevated Community Workstation". The English name "Vision Station" is inspired by the concept of a railway station as a space where people gather, exchange information, and await departure. Interestingly, the building leased from Glory Bus was originally an old TRA bus station. During the renovation process, the designers specifically preserved the original classical sign "Have a Pleasant Journey".
The current exhibition theme of Vision Station, "Finding the Heart of Taoyuan", presents the past and present of Chiayi Railway Station, an introduction to the history of Chiayi, and a simulation of the railway elevation route. Using Augmented Reality (AR) technology, visitors can view a 3D station map on a tablet computer.
Vision Station also functions as the Chiayi Railway Elevated Community Workstation. As the detailed design of the railway elevation progresses, the exhibition content will be updated to provide engineering information. Additionally, a series of public participation events, including seminars, workshops, and discussions, will be held. All citizens are invited to visit Vision Station, learn about the past and present of Chiayi Railway Station, and participate in this journey to understand the city's past and imagine its future.
