Taichung Metropolitan Park is located on the Dadu Mountain Plateau in Taichung City, covering an area of 88 hectares. Officially opened to the public on October 28, 2000, it is the second large-scale urban green park completed after the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park. The park is situated along the ridgeline of the Dadu Mountain Plateau, with a vast area and very close to the plateau’s highest point (310 meters above sea level), offering expansive views and magnificent scenery. Looking eastward, visitors can overlook the Taichung Basin and take in the beautiful cityscape of Taichung. On the west side, the landscape is entirely different—the distant Taiwan Strait is clearly visible, with ships coming and going, and the Taichung Power Plant and Taichung Port lie at your feet.
