The Tian De Hall was built with the joint investment of local military and political personnel, and wealthy merchants. It is the largest temple of the Tian De religion in Taiwan, where the formless ancient Buddha is worshiped. The Tian De followers believe in a kind of "Tao" but not idols. The hall is located on the west side of Song Bai Ridge. After renovation, the plaza allows people to fly kites and play. The old trail at the slope is a good place for nearby residents to exercise in the morning and walk in the evening. The plaza in front of the hall provides a great view of Nanliao Harbor and the wind power generators, and is a popular scenic spot for the public.
