The area has a gentle slope, so a water platform is set up as an outdoor small performance space. The platform is designed in a wave shape to symbolize the posture presented by the nine dragons roaming. To enhance the waterfront experience, a waterfront platform was specially designed with a grid plate at the outer edge of the arc to allow visitors to feel the waves and cool breeze of the water surface at high water levels. From this platform, visitors can not only observe the floating fields on the water but also gaze at the distant Ciyun Pagoda, Qinglong Mountain, and Erlang Mountain.
Located above the large platform at Jiulongkou, it is the Jiulongkou, which is a fork in the road to Shuishe, Riyuetan or Yidashao. Riyuetan was once called "Longhu". Geographical surveyors believe that the peninsulas extending from the surrounding mountains to the lake surface resemble dragons drilling into the water. In the center of the lake is an island originally named "Zhuyu" and now called Lalu Island. Therefore, the scenery is described as "Nine Dragons Playing Pearls". There are also many place names related to dragons around the lake, including Longlun Ridge, Qinglong Mountain, and Erlang Mountain. The area where Provincial Highway 21 enters the Riyuetan District is called Jiulongkou.
