Mingxin Food was founded in 1962, near the area of Chenggong University and Tainan First High School, as a grocery store called Mingxin Food Store (currently located at the intersection of Changrong Road and Dongning Road). The founder, Mr. Hsu Chun-hsiung (current Chairman), foresaw that Western-style bread would change the eating habits of Taiwanese people. With a forward-thinking perspective, he went to Taipei Nanhong Baking School (now known as the China Cereal Institute) to learn baking-related knowledge and techniques. He gradually transformed the grocery store into a specialized Western-style bakery. As the Eastern District of Tainan City developed, Mingxin Food was officially reorganized into "Mingxin Food Enterprise Co., Ltd." in 1989. "A bright moon shines with flowers side by side, and a new couple stands before the mirror, like two swallows flying together."
